Jim Wells County HOME Program

Jim Wells County is pleased to announce the upcoming availability of HOME Program funds for homeowners living in Jim Wells County, excluding the Cities of Alice, Orange Grove, Premont, and the portion of the City of San Diego located in Duval County.

The Home Program provides funds to assist low-income homeowners to replace their current home with a new house built on the same lot.

Applications will be available to pick up on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, during regular business hours at the following locations: 

Precinct #1, 1203 S. Hwy 281, Alice, TX;
Precinct #2, 200 N. Almond Street, Ste. B-104, Alice, TX; Precinct #3, 107 Armstrong, Orange Grove, TX; and, Precinct #4, 331 SW 1^st Street, Premont, TX.

Who Should Register?

• People who are medically fragile
• People with functional needs such as:
  • Limited Mobility
  • Communication barriers
  • Require additional medical assistance during an emergency event
  • Require personal care assistance
• People who require transportation assistance

Registering in STEAR DOES NOT guarantee you will receive a specific service during emergencies.
