WHERE IS MY NEW VOTER REGISTRATION CARD?
Jim Wells County, along with all other Texas Counties is awaiting the go ahead from the State to send out Voter ID Cards which is dependent upon the outcome of the re-districting lawsuits.
It is not necessary to re-apply for a new Voter card unless you have moved, or have a name change.
Voter registration cards are mailed out every two years however, because of the challenge to the redistricting boundaries drawn by the 82nd Texas Legislature, mailing of the cards has been delayed.  New voter cards will be “yellow” in color and will be valid through December 31, 2013.
