Effective Monday, March 30, 2020 our office will temporarily suspend all walk-in services due to the ongoing concerns regarding COVID-19.
We will continue to work court filings submitted through eFile Texas and to fulfill issuance requests for out cases. For civil/family citations, current documents scheduled for pickup have been mailed to the person who requested the process. All future issuance will be mailed or emailed only. For questions regarding citation issuance that is urgent or requires special handling, please call our office.
Self-represented litigants (pro se) who require additional assistance or wish to make an appointment will need to call our office at 361-668-5717, option #6.
All document requests and searches will be handled electronically through eFile Texas and your copies will be transmitted to you by email. Customers who are unable to locate a cause number can call our office for assistance. If you are given an appointment we ask that you not bring children or anyone under the age of 18 years.
Defendants who are required to make payment arrangements on a criminal case should use the internet website, www.co.jim-wells.tx.us, and go to the District Clerk page to find information regarding credit or debit card payments processed through Certified Payments. Payments by check, money order or cashier's check payable to R. David Guerrero, District Clerk may be mailed to PO Drawer 2219, Alice, TX 78333. All payments must include your case number and full name.
Emergency matters will be determined on a case-by-case basis and immediate need.
